Cancellation Policy

When appointments are made, this time (50 mins) is reserved for you, The Client, and therefore a cancellation policy is in place, which is as follows:

Cancellation of an appointment less than 24 hours or misses the appointment (the client does not show): 50% of the consultation fee applies and will be debited directly from your credit card within 24 hours of your cancelled appointment.

Sometimes clients are unable to keep an appointment because of sudden illness or an unexpected personal emergency.  If this happens to you, please contact us as soon as possible to explain the problem and we will usually waive this fee.

You can call our office anytime, even if it is after-hours (0421 308 892). This number has a 24-hour answering services and you can always leave a message.

Please note that Medicare or health insurance rebates are not applicable to cancellation fees.

Why do we have a cancellation policy?

A late cancellation, late rescheduled appointment or failure to attend your appointment is a loss to three people:

1.  You. Progress simply cannot be made if you do not attend your psychological appointments as scheduled and therefore delaying your therapy progress.

2.  Other clients.  There are other clients who are on a waiting list for an earlier appointment to see the psychologist urgently.  With sufficient notice of cancellation, we can offer this earlier appointment to them.

3.  The psychologist.    Inadequate notice of change to appointments and non-attendance is disruptive to the psychologist’s time who has allocated your consultation time to you to help achieve your treatment goals, spent time preparing for the session, and lost income.

Please note that while we endeavour to remind you of your appointments through SMS reminders, these should not be relied upon and it is your responsibility to remember appointments you have made and provide sufficient notice of change to the appointment directly to the practice to avoid cancellation fee.
